Summary
Easy Join does not collect, process or share any personal data, Revit model content, geometry, parameters, file names, user names, project names, client information or any confidential data. We only collect anonymous and aggregated usage metrics (for example: the plugin was launched, the join/unjoin action was executed) so we can understand how many people use the plugin and which features matter most.
1. Who is the data controller
Easy Join is developed and maintained by Felipe Milioni, an independent professional based in Brazil. For questions, requests or to exercise your rights, please contact contato@milioni.com.br.
2. What data we collect
We use Aptabase exclusively to collect anonymous usage metrics. Each event contains, at most:
- Event name (for example,
plugin_started,join_executed,unjoin_executed); - Easy Join version and the Autodesk Revit version in use;
- Operating system and its version;
- System language and approximate country (derived from the IP, without storing the IP);
- An anonymous identifier generated by Aptabase via a hash of IP + User Agent + a salt rotated every 24 hours; the original IP is never stored.
3. What we do NOT collect
- No Revit model content, geometry, parameters or metadata;
- No file, project, client, company or folder names;
- No confidential information, intellectual property or business data;
- No name, email, phone, Autodesk login or any data that directly identifies you;
- No IP addresses (used only in memory by Aptabase to derive the anonymous identifier and then discarded);
- No cookies, no persistent device identifiers and no fingerprinting.
4. How we use this data
- Understanding how many people use the plugin per day, week and month;
- Identifying which features are used the most and prioritizing improvements;
- Detecting errors and crashes related to specific versions of Revit or operating systems;
- Deciding which Revit versions to keep supporting.
5. Legal basis
The collection described above involves anonymized data, which, under Article 12 of Brazil's Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (Law 13.709/2018 - LGPD) and Recital 26 of the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), is not considered personal data when the anonymization cannot reasonably be reversed. Should any jurisdiction still classify part of this data as personal, the applicable legal basis is legitimate interest (Art. 7, IX of LGPD and Art. 6(1)(f) of GDPR) in understanding product usage and keeping the product working. For California residents, this processing does not constitute a "sale" of personal information under CCPA/CPRA.
6. Sharing and subprocessors
Anonymous data is processed exclusively by Aptabase (Aptabase, OÜ), our only subprocessor. Their privacy policy is available at aptabase.com/legal/privacy. Events are stored on servers located in the United States of America (Aptabase US region). We do not sell, rent or share data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
7. International data transfers
Because Aptabase stores events in the United States, an international transfer of the collected data takes place. Since this is anonymized data not linked to any individual, the transfer is carried out in accordance with Article 33 of Brazil's LGPD (international transfer) and Chapter V of the GDPR. For users in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, where transfers of personal data to the United States may require additional safeguards, the anonymized nature of the data substantially mitigates any risk. If you do not agree with this transfer, you can disable collection as described in section 10 below.
8. Retention
Anonymous events are kept for as long as they remain useful for product analytics and historical metrics. Because no data is linked to an identified or identifiable person, no individual retention policy applies.
9. Data subject rights
Although it is technically impossible to locate records specific to a given user (since the data is anonymous), we honor the rights established by LGPD (Art. 18) and GDPR (Articles 15-22), including the right to confirm processing, access, rectify, anonymize, port, delete, learn about disclosures and withdraw consent. Requests can be sent to contato@milioni.com.br and will be addressed within 15 days.
10. How to opt out
Telemetry can be disabled by blocking the Revit connection to the us.aptabase.com domain at your firewall or corporate proxy. No Easy Join feature depends on this connection.
11. Children
Easy Join is a professional plugin for Autodesk Revit and is not directed at children or teenagers. We do not intentionally collect data from anyone under 18.
12. Security
Communication between the plugin and Aptabase happens exclusively over HTTPS (TLS). Because the transmitted data is anonymous and contains no sensitive information, the impact of any potential incident is limited.
13. Updates to this policy
This policy may be updated from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page indicates the current version. We recommend reviewing it whenever a new version of Easy Join is installed.
